The introduction said that there was a recent shooting in the area which was Harlem and the author was saying how where there lived it was very rare for a murder to occur, but somehow his brother Paul always had encounters with bad things no matter what.
The conclusion is basically wrapping everything up by saying and talking about how him and his brother Paul lived in Harlem and what life was like.
