I believe the introduction to this essay, "Sparrow Needy", opens the scene to the reader by providing voice and an idea of what is going on in the city of Harlem at that specified time.
I believe the conclusion adds closure to the message the essay is giving off. After reading the final few paragraphs, we know that Paul and his brother had each other no matter what was said about them. The author wanted to continue to compose more poems having to do with Paul, but he seemed to have kept vanishing.
