Sparrow Needy Intro and Conclusion
The introduction to Sparrow Needy is used to introduce the reader to Lynwood, the boy who killed someone in a shooting and Paul. It also sets the dark tone for the setting of Harlem. Paul witnesses a murder in the beginning of the essay. And when the author tells us about the Lynwood shooting he gives examples of people that who allegedly killed a person but was never proven. Even though we dont know who really killed those people, lives were still taken so its safe to assume Harlem is not a safe area to be in.
The conclusion gives us the ending to the main character's lives. Paul died from septicemia, Lynwood went to jail, and the author becomes a reading teacher at a college. The author also reminisces on Paul, especially when he says things like "your my brother he often said. Your my brother."
