Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Writing my Second Essay
When starting my second essay assigment I found the topic pretty interesting but kind of hard to begin writing, especially when it came to taking about my own major and why I choose Queensborough Community College as my beginning path. When we entered class on thursday the workshop was really helpful in making me decided what I could add or take out from my essay. The three classmates from my group gave me great comments that I could follow as I contunie writing my essay such as adding more details about by recent past and continuing to give more details about my future goals that involve my major. So far I have been trying to add as much as could to my essay about how I relate to my major and how I see my future relating to it as well. I feel like the group comments do help a lot because when other people are able to read your work they might see things that the own writer might not see, so it helps a lot when classmates have ways in how I could improve in some parts of my writing.
