Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Haywire was much more interesting than the other essays we had to read, for me. Reading Haywire had me interested from the beginning to the end. It had me on the edge of my seat wondering if Sellers was ever going to ask her father about "what" and "who" he was and I was so eager to know the answer. I was disappointed at the ending but it caught my eye when Fred said "you knew about that." That caught my eye because it made me think that Fred was shocked that someone, especially his own daughter, was paying attention to him when he thought no one was.
