Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

After reading "The book of the dead" By Catherine Venable I realized that religion was a big part of the Egyptian 's. The Egyptian's believed in reincarnation and the after-life which is the belief that when someone dies they would be resurrected in another body and spirit/soul. They believe that this would keep happening and live forever because they believed death was a bad thing so they would try to bring back the person by praying and talking to the dead.
