Sparrow Needy reaction (in class)

After reading the first few paragraphs of the essay"Sparrow Needy",  the opening just mentioned  a murder, Lynwood, killed someone. Then, it talked about his brother, Paul. Absolutely, I was confused which person was related to the topic on earth?

As for the ending, the author told me the truth of the story that Lynwood wasn't the  real murder which made me surprised. Also, the ending, the author left many assumption about his life to let me think about. Although there was complex relationship between the author, Paul and Lynwood, these two people still had profound influence on the author.
