Haywire Reaction

When I first read Haywire it already seemed different than the other readings we had. As I went along I realized how different the topic is. We hear about this girl who through her upbringing it was rather unorthodox. She had a mother on drugs which made her reality more odd and "looney" in a sense and when she moves in with her father she notices his clothing is covering women's clothing. I couldn't relate but I tried to put things in perspective on what it would be like to have a transvestite father and a paranoid mother. The story revolved around how her upbringing was almost tortuous and when she finally left how it was a hard journey but in the end, its relatable to a degree which is why I feel many liked this story. Not relating in the transvestite father aspect but the pursuit of independence. Overall this may be my personal favorite story or the Murder Manual one we read in the first week.
