After reading that passage i feel like author's ex-husband has been through a lot in his childhood in New York like his time in army and his various other jobs. he was not scared to tell his wife about the truth that he killed a rapist because he knew that he was right but his wife got scared and started thinking that her husband is a murderer.after reading this passage i feel like her ex husband hasn't done anything wrong because a they mentioned in the passage the the person who raped a girl has gotten away with it because the crime either was unreported or investigated improperly.he killed that person because the rapist bragged about having dated a neighborhood girl. the rapist said ugly women needs love too. but the wife still did not believe him so he pincered her bicep until it burned. at this point of the story i feel like her husband was lying and just trying to threaten her like what he is capable of.
