Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Intersex, and Erased Again
This article was in the times today and is relevant to what we were talking about on Tues. Check it out:
I hope my comments did not make me come across as a bigot. My comments were refering to those who arent intersex and wish to identify as something else simply because or cause it is the trend. like parents who raise regular children as non binary because they want to show how progressive they are. I have many friends in the LGBT community and have had similar discussions that have went both well and not so well. good read though nonetheless.
Brian, thanks for this note. Although I can't speak for myself, what you said didn't offend me. I think, though, it's nice that you wrote this note to express your sensitivity about the topic. We can't ever know what our neighbors' personal stories are and I have found it's good to be sensitive to that. Thanks for your enthusiasm and good energy.
